Grant Gustin On 'Epic' New Episode, 'Plot Twists', 'Hunger Games' Rumors, Kissing Darren Criss & More!

Grant Gustin says the Feb. 21 "winter finale" episode of the Fox TV series is a "really exciting one" with "epic plot twists that I don't think anybody will see coming."

"It's a "lesson-learning episode, for sure," he continues, with "multiple cliffhangers" and "great performance numbers."

The installment, titled "On My Way," features rival show choirs New Directions and Warblers battling at the regionals competition. Among the Warblers' numbers are a cover of the Wanted's "Glad You Came" while New Directions take on Kelly Clarkson's Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)."
Gustin, who plays the villain-you-love-to-hate Sebastian on "Glee," filmed a wide-ranging, lengthy video interview with Billboard on Feb. 14, where he answered more than 40 questions submitted by fans via Twitter. Watch the interview in three installments below.

The 22-year old performer discussed the secrets of "Glee's" slushies, his thoughts on Sebastian's backstory, the possibility of kissing co-star Darren Criss and his love of Instagram. He also addressed rumors of being cast as Finnick Odair in the second "Hunger Games" film (he hasn't) and how he has "such a crush" on one particular movie actress.

Gustin also said that his character's relationship with Blaine Anderson (played by Darren Criss) is a "little bit more up in the air" in the regionals episode, as compared to where they left off in the Michael Jackson-themed show. "[Sebastian] cares for Blaine, somewhere in there, for sure. It's definitely a real thing to him. But he has his priorities out of line."

While Gustin couldn't hint at what's in store for his character on "Glee," he did caution that he doesn't "know how much longer Sebastian will be around." (Cue fan panic in five, four, three...)

After the Feb. 21 installment of "Glee," the show will take a break and return with new episodes beginning on April 10. The return will feature guest star Matt Bomer (USA Network's "White Collar") as Blaine's older brother, Cooper.

New Line and Warner Bros. will debut the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the ensemble sequel New Year's Eve on May 1, 2012.
New Year's Eve is the followup to the hugely successful film Valentine's Day from director Gary Marshall. This is one upcoming independent film that I'm truly excited about. Written by and starring Glee's Chris Colfer, Struck by Lightning boasts a winning cast including Christina Hendricks (AMC's Mad Men, Drive), Dermot Mulroney (Zodiac, About Schmidt), Sarah Hyland (ABC's Modern Family), Matt Prokop (High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Disney's Geek Charming), Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids, A Few Best Men), and the always-spectacular Allison Janney (NBC's The West Wing, Juno, The Help). In his second feature, director Brian Dannelley (Saved!) brings us a high school comedy that promises a new twist on a tried and true genre.

The film's champion pedigree starts at the top. Producer David Permut's films have permeated my favorites from previous years' festivals, starting with George Gallo's Local Color, starring Trevor Morgan and Armin Mueller-Stahl. I attended the World Premiere at Tribeca in 2006 and covered screenings at three successive festivals. It made my Top 10 of that year. He followed that up with Charlie Bartlett, the critically-acclaimed Anton Yelchin-starrer that won my heart at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. Youth in Revolt, with Michael Cera, made my Top 10 at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. Permut has a winning track record in my book and I know Struck by Lightning will be another crowd-pleaser.

'Glee': No Concert Tour This Year (Exclusive)

Producers instead are eyeing a one-off Hollywood Bowl benefit concert in the fall in a bid to raise $10 million for its Glee Give a Note charity.

There will not be a Glee concert tour this year.

After spending its past two summers on the road as part of Glee Live! In Concert!, the cast will instead receive a two-and-a-half-month hiatus, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
"We currently have no plans of touring the cast this summer," a spokesman for Glee studio 20th Television tells THR. Considering the series has yet to officially garner a fourth-season renewal, plans for future tours are unclear as the series takes things one year at a time.

In lieu of a full tour, Glee producers are eyeing a one-off benefit concert event that likely would take place in the fall at the Hollywood Bowl and serve as a fundraiser for its arts education charity Glee Give a Note. The goal is to raise $10 million this year. But negotiations for such an event have not begun so nothing is set in stone.
Sources say Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy was instrumental in getting the cast -- which often works 16-hour days filming scenes, recording songs and in dance rehearsals for the musical dramedy -- the summer off.
Last year's tour -- which stopped in arenas across the U.S., Canada, England and Ireland -- was the 16th-most-successful concert of 2011, grossing more than $40 million and finishing just behind Justin Bieber. All 40 dates sold out with total attendance topping 485,000, according to Billboard.

The news comes as concert business remains strong, with Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: Immortal tour delivering healthy returns.
Heading into last year's sophomore season, 14 Glee cast members were under contract to participate in the 2011 world tour with rehearsals beginning almost immediately after production wrapped on the show's 22 episodes. Following the 40-stop effort, the cast had a small window of time before kicking off production on its third season.
Glee Live began as a four-city tour following Season 1 and expanded following the quick sellouts and limited engagement.

Glee: The 3D Concert Movie, which was filmed during last summer's tour and produced for an estimated $9 million, opened to a disappointing $5.7 million at the domestic box office in August, ranking 11th for the weekend on its way to a stateside total of $11.9 million.
In its three years, Glee -- and its growing cast -- has supported a plethora of charities, most recently providing $1 million in donations to support music education through its Glee Give A Note campaign, which saw schools in Ohio, New York and Alabama each receive $50,000 in grand prize cash.
Created by Fox, Murphy and the National Association of Music Education, the Give A Note campaign uses funds raised through the show’s DVD and Blu-ray sales to support struggling arts education programs across the country and, through its Web site, encourages fans of the series to do the same.
The news of the scrapped tour comes at a busy time for Murphy, who in addition to Glee is readying the second season of FX's horror anthology American Horror Story in addition to prepping a comedy pilot, The New Normal, for NBC, in addition to executive producing Oxygen's The Glee Project.

Although this is a moment in which I caught Jenna in a pleasant daze, Jenna’s smile makes you want to burst at the seams. Therefore, naturally you want to make her laugh as much as humanly possible. Her sense of humor is a healthy one, so this task is not too difficult. However, it is one that you truly want to exercise. Her laugh is even better, it comes straight from the core. When she is in that moment, you know that she is truly free. This is a brief insight to my beautiful friend, a fun little walk in her head.

YM&C: What day is it?
Jenna: Saturday, around 1:00 pm.

YM&C: Where are you responding to this email?
Jenna: On my couch, in my living room.

YM&C: If you could go somewhere, right now, for 24 hours, where would it be?
Jenna: Only 24 hours?? OK. A remote beach in Fiji. I’d need more time to go to the other places on my list…..Italy, Greece, Paris…

YM&C: What makes you the happiest?
Jenna: The little things. My friends, family, a quiet night on the couch by myself or a fun night out. I feel the happiest when I feel complete. Productive, challenged.

YM&C: What makes you feel inspired?
Jenna: Seeing something beautiful develop when someone tells a story. What I mean, is in reference to when you watch an artist go through a journey, watching them fall and pick themselves back up and rise to the top. Being challenged, being forced
to really think and question.

YM&C: What’s your favorite song to sing?
Jenna: Adele’s cover of “Make You Feel My Love.”

YM&C: What’s your power anthem?
Jenna: Florence and the Machine’s “Shake it Out.”

YM&C: What movie makes you all kinds of happy?
Jenna: Peter Pan.

YM&C: What is one thing that you think people don’t expect from you?
Jenna: To speak up for myself. I used to be a “welcome mat” and I didn’t speak up! So I think a lot of people don’t expect me to confront them, or be honest with my feelings. BUT! I pick my battles. So when I do, I’m sure to be heard.

YM&C: What would you say to your younger self?
Jenna: Don’t take yourself too seriously. Don’t be afraid to make more mistakes and take more risks. Also, don’t forget to look at the bigger picture. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve figured out how to put myself in other people’s shoes. I wish I new that a little earlier. My parents always taught me to appreciate what I have and to “be where you are.” We are always looking towards tomorrow, what’s coming next, especially when I was dying to get out of High School, you know what I’m talking about! I wish I had made it more evident or shared with people that I was truly appreciative of them and what they did. Being adopted gave me a great perspective on things, but that got stronger as I matured. I am so grateful to be adopted. I am so grateful for my parents and being able to be their choice and “gift” in this world. I wouldn’t be where I am without them and the opportunity that I was given. So, to little Jenna, I’d say, “Live in the moment. Appreciate what you have instead of what you could or don’t have.”

YM&C: A picture and a thought?

I took these photos when I was living in the West Village with one of my best friends, Eryn. We got a “grow your own sunflower” as a gift. This little seed grew into this beautiful sunflower over the course of a few months living together.
I was having one of those sideways days where nothing felt or seemed right and this turned my whole day around.

The shocking moment we were talking about in the last Glee-Dux does not directly involve Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera). Now go take a breath. Also, from what we've heard, there is something major in the very beginning of the episode and something major at the very end.

The Glee beauty and the Captain America star appeared to be in love as they laughed together and shared a steamy kiss as they waited for their car.

The hot young couple had a 7 month relationship before it was reported that they split up in early December due to jealousy and long distance troubles but it looks like they have put all of that behind them and have decided to give it another try.

You mean, He of the Bluest Eyes? Well, we already knew his name is Cooper, but have you done the math that Blaine's last name is Anderson so that means Bomer's full name is Cooper Anderson? Perhaps a shout-out to Anderson Cooper? Anyhoo, Bomer is shooting scenes this week for his Glee episode, titled "Big Brother." And though it will be centered primarily on Blaine (Darren Criss), there is also some Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele) stuff going down. After all, graduation is upon the kids of McKinley High.

Julie in California: I'm worried that Artie will continue to pine after Sugar, even after she made ableist remarks about him and said she felt sorry for him. Please tell me he gets over and finds someone who actually wants to be with him!

Artie (Kevin McHale) will take a break over the next couple episodes of Glee from pining after Sugar (Vanessa Lengies) since everyone will be focusing on Regionals and dealing with the crazy events that go down during next episode. Lengies tells us that the Sugar-Rory-Artie love triangle will be on the back burner for a bit, but since Rory (Damian McGinty) is lying to Sugar about his imminent deportation, you can bet your four-leaf-clover that storyline will come back with a vengeance.

Kevin Bacon, Chris Colfer and John C. Reilly have been added to the performance of "8," Dustin Lance Black's play about the Prop 8 trial that will be staged at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on March 3.
The event is a benefit organized by the American Foundation for Equal Rights, the org of entertainment and political activists pursuing the case in federal court, and Broadway Impact, the nonprofit set up to mobilize the theater community in support of same-sex marriage equality.

Others in the cast include George Clooney and Martin Sheen as David Boies and Ted Olson, respectively, the lead counsels for the plaintiffs in the case. Rob Reiner is directing, and has a role in the play.

Ausiello: Sounds like it. As you know, Groff just inked a deal to join the Season 2 cast of Boss as a series regular. But a McKinley High insider tells me that Lea Michele’s real-life BFF is still set to appear in two episodes of Glee later this season.

Glee-Dux: Guess Who's Back?! V-Day Episode Delivers Romance, Smooches and Shockers!

Well done, Glee. You managed to make us believe that tonight's Valentine's Day was just an episode about love and romance. But then you went ahead and dropped a huge surprise on us!
Not only did we get a shocking return that'll bring on a big storyline next episode, but we also got something that Glee fans have been waiting forever for. Plus, Regionals is about to blow your mindhole…

Brittana Fans Got Something They Wanted: While we think Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera) are adorable just sitting next to each other, we were in desperate need of some PDA from the lovebirds. And praise Groff, we finally got it! It was only a five-second kiss (albeit a passionate one), but it's a step forward, right? We even think the beginning "almost kiss" was a little wink to viewers from the peeps at Glee who know that Brittana fans have been waiting for this.
But what's even better, the big smooch was set up with a hot-topic debate about double standards for couples at the high school. It's OK for Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele) to make out in the hallway, but not same-sex couples? Plus, the God Squad (formerly the Chastity Club) had to decide whether or not to deliver a singing telegram from Santana to Brittany. Mostly, it was Joe (Glee Project winner Samuel Larsen) who wasn't sure what he was comfortable with. How cute did he look in his debut, by the way?
In the end, Joe said it best with "Love is love," and they did serenade Brittany for Santana during the Sugar Shack party, and it was so sweet we got a toothache. Also, here is the list of songs that Brittany revealed goes through her head while she's with Santana:

Karofsky Loves Kurt: Well, duh. We knew that Dave (Max Adler) had feelings for Kurt (Chris Colfer) since…well, since he force-kissed him. And we're real happy to see him coming so far since being a bully. And there was something off about that monkey suit and "secret admirer" notes that Kurt recieved throughout the episode. Turns out it was Karofsky in the monkey suit the whole time (cool reveal!) and not Blaine (Darren Criss), which cluminated in Dave professing his love for Kurt at Breadstix.
Of course, Kurt is happy in love with Blaine, and he had to gently turn down his suitor. And, to add insult to injury, their interaction was witnessed by some jock named Nick, who obviously doesn't know about Karofsky's sexuality. Who else thinks that'll come up again? Thankfully, before Kurt could miss Blaine too much, his boyfriend popped up last minute to spend V-Day with his honey. And he had a heart-shaped eye patch, which was awesome.

A New Love Triangle Is Born: At first glance, it looked like this sitch would be the usual "two boys want one girl" triangle, but it got a wee bit sinister when Rory (Damian McGinty) straight-up lied about having to go back to Ireland at the end of the school year. Clearly, he made that up to gain sympathy from Sugar (Vanessa Lengies) and ultimately her heart. That can't end well, and we know Artie (Kevin McHale) will be standing by to snatch Sugar up when she finds out the truth.

Samcedes Is Dead…for Now: Mercedes (Amber Riley) told her boyfriend about kissing Sam (Chord Overstreet), subsequently ending their relationship. Great news for Samcedes fans, right? Wrong. Mercedes still turned down Sam, because she didn't like the person she had become and she wanted to be single for a while. Smart girl. And that led to a beautiful rendition of "I Will Always Love You" which served as a dedication to the late Whitney Houston. Sam and Mercedes may be apart, but something tells us they aren't done for good.
The 'Rents Want to Stop Finn and Rachel's Wedding: Finn and Rachel announced their engagement to New Directions, and got mixed reactions. Kurt and Quinn (Dianna Agron) were not on board (maybe that's because Quinn and Rachel will end up together in the end?), but the rest pretty much were happy for the couple.
We thought Rachel's dads were supportive of the teenage wedding, but it was all a ploy to get Finchel to see they weren't ready for marriage. They shoved them together for a sleepover, and the couple got into a fight quicker than you could say "Finn has to go number two." Of course, the fight was about more than just bathroom habits. It was also about plans after college, New York and the future.
But Finchel surprised us all by making up and getting to Breadstix just in time for the Valentine's Day party. Of course, they didn't really talk out the big issues facing their relationship (what will Finn do in New York?), but we bet our next ice bath facial that those problems will return to bite them in the you-know-what.

A Truly Shocking Winter Finale: Seriously, if what we're hearing about the cliffhanger in the Regionals episode is true, then a certain fanbase is going to be pissed. But that's what we love most about TV: its ability to anger us so much and make us so happy at the same time.

Matt Bomer: Yes, we all know he's guest starring on Glee, but we just needed to bring it up as an excuse to run this absolutely adorable photo of Matt with his onscreen brother, Darren Criss, and his onscreen dad, Tim Davis. Davis tweeted the photo along with "my two sons." Quite the attractive family, no?

The Bully Returns: He's ba-a-ack. Tonight was not the last we'll see of Dave. He has an interesting storyline in the Regionals episode, and we're anxious to see how Karofsky handles the situation he finds himself in come next week.

Online for any single post in the entire history of the website. Umm...yeah, we are just as stunned as you. Also, we did an investigation into this voting and it showed no signs of false play among "Faberry" fans: Just a group of hardcore, dedicated shippers who organized mass-voting times (all hours of the night), and obviously took this thing very seriously.

Now, I know what many of you who casually watch Glee are thinking: What the what?! Are Rachel and Quinn even a couple? And wait a minute, aren't they straight? Why yes, yes they are, as far as we know. But the "Faberry" fans believe these two belong together. And from the very first step of this Top Couple tournament, they represented, making sure that the pair received a nomination. As you may or may not recall, we left the nominations solely up to you. Vanessa Lengies Teases Sugar's Sweet Valentine's Day and 'Jaw-Dropping' Winter Finale!

When TVLine first interviewed Vanessa Lengies about recurring on Fox’s Glee this season, she could only hope that sassy Sugar Motta would stick around beyond the introduction of the Trouble Tones. Now midway through Season 3 — and barreling into the show’s winter break — she must marvel at how things turned out. “I mean, look — I’m doing Regionals and dancing my ass off!”
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Regionals are still a week away (hi, Community fans!), and before then there’s the none-too-small matter of Miss Motta’s Valentine’s Day revelry.
“Sugar is getting love from all angles in this week’s episode,” Lengies raves. “She’s having boys fight over her, her daddy is throwing her a rager, her outfits are just getting better and better…. All the cards are coming up Sugar, for sure!”

First turning to the aforementioned boys, as seen in the photo below, Sugar will have both Artie (played by Kevin McHale) and Rory (Damian McGinty) vying for her affections. “The person who does the confetti locker for her definitely wins that round,” the actress shares. “But there are multiple rounds of winning Sugar’s heart in this episode, which is really hard to do when you don’t know what she likes or is thinking at any moment.”

In fact, Sugar might not even necessarily have a strong point of view on either of her prospective suitors. “I don’t think she understands what a relationship really means,” says her portrayer. “All she knows is it’s not OK to be single” on this day of all days.
To that end, Sugar’s daddy opens his wallet to transform Breadstix into “The Sugar Shack” aka a venue for a couples-only Valentine’s bash. (After all, with her middle name to be revealed as Valentina, “This is her favorite day of the year,” says Lengies. As for the one restriction on RSVPs, Sugar believes “singles are depressing”).
But which gent will be on her arm as she parades around in an outfit made almost entirely of purple feather boas? “Sugar goes back and forth the entire episode, but at the end she definitely has a date for the Sugar Shack,” says Lengies.
There at the Sugar Shack, viewers can expect a cover of (appropriately enough) the B-52s’ “Love Shack” plus a song featuring The Glee Project‘s Samuel Larsen, who plays Joe Hart, a member of McKinley’s High’s “God Squad” (a group for Christian students).

Now taking a look down the road, though Glee fans are doing their annual grumbling about a several-week hiatus, Lengies promises that the winter finale airing next Tuesday will offer much food for thought.
“It’s our regionals episode, and it’s a huge jaw-dropper,” she reveals. “When I read the script, I was shocked, because it takes you on a big roller-coaster ride. In almost everyone’s storyline there is a surprise, so I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it.” Touting the episode even further, she says: “It ends with one of those scenes where you just can’t believe what’s happening.”
And yes, there is much singing and dancing, being, you know, regionals and all. “We just finished filming it, and I have blisters all over my feet,” Lengies laments. “I was dancing for two days straight!”

Glee will leave us hanging with a huge cliffhanger in next week's episode, titled "On My Way." "The Regional episode is probably one of the most on-the-edge-of-my-seat episodes that I've read yet this season. It had twists and turns that I wasn't expecting," Lengies tells us. She chalked up cliffhanger to the fact that Glee will go on hiatus after the Regionals episode. "I guess that's why they just wanted to shock everyone, and I was definitely shocked when I read it," she says. Speculate away!

Dog Becomes Valentine's Day Gift On Sitcom

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- It has been said that shelter dogs are the best dogs.
From a diving dog, a three-legged surfing and therapy dog and now a television star, all have been rescued from the Kern County Animal Shelter.

Zeke, a black and white terrier mix, was 2 months old when he was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield.

Zeke waited at the shelter for someone to claim him and when no one did, the Shelter Rescue Coordinator sought out the perfect rescue home for Zeke.

Zeke was rescued and found his way down South to the home of a trainer that soon recognized that Zeke was destined for Hollywood and a little sitcom called “Glee.”

“It is an exciting feeling to know that your efforts have paid off in such a high profile way,” said Shelter Supervisor Nick Cullen. “It is always rewarding when one of our furry friends finds a forever home.”

When the email came announcing that Zeke could be seen in an upcoming episode of “Glee,” the name of the episode was not released to animal control.

However, from photos received, it is believed that Zeke plays a Valentine's Day gift and will be on this week’s episode.

It's Official: Glee Will Dedicate Valentine's Day Episode to Whitney Houston

Tomorrow night's Glee episode was shot before Whitney Houston's death, but producers have found a way to dedicate the hour to the late great musical icon.
A rep for 20th Century, the studio that produces Glee, just confirmed to us:

"Purely coincidentally, the episode contains Mercedes (Amber Riley) singing 'I Will Always Love You,' the Dolly Parton song Houston made famous in The Bodyguard. The producers have decided to dedicate the episode to Houston's memory with a card in the end credits."

Riley told our Marc Malkin she met Houston for the first time on Thursday. "I didn't need her to take a picture with me. I didn't need an autograph. The fact that she even acknowledged that I was standing there was enough for me," she said.
"I was very broken up [on Sunday]," Riley continued. "My dad actually called me and told me. He was like, 'Are you driving because I'll need you to pull over,' because he knows how much I love Whitney Houston."
On tomorrow night's Glee, we'll learn more about who Riley's character Mercedes loves, as she weighs her feelings between Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Shane (LaMarcus Tinker), which is the impetus for her singing Houston's version of her seminal song.

‘Glee’ guy turns to ‘Normal’

“Glee” mastermind Ryan Murphy is stepping away from full control of his hit Fox musical show and is taking a back seat to concentrate on writing and directing his latest project, “The New Normal,” according to sources.

Late last month NBC ordered a comedy pilot from Murphy and “Glee” co-executive producer A llison Adler for the half-hour show, which Murphy will direct. The project about a gay couple and a woman who becomes their surrogate stars Andrew Rannells from “The Book of Mormon.”

Dante Di Loreto is writing the “New Normal” script with Murphy and Adler. And Ellen Barkin is negotiating to join the cast.

Sources tell us Murphy is now pouring most of his attention into the show. One said, “Ryan is technically off ‘Glee’ and [co-creator] Brad Falchuck has taken over the day-to-day running. After some drama and discord with the cast last year, and with Ryan being very outspoken in the press, it was suggested by his aides that he relax a little.”

The source added, “He still has an immense influence over ‘Glee.’ But the truth is Ryan has lots of ideas, he was getting a little bored and is ready [for] new projects.”

Since “Glee” became a breakout hit for Fox, writer-producer Murphy has battled rumors of drama within the cast and issues reportedly caused by his outspoken, direct nature.

Last summer he blamed the media after back-pedaling over his claim that the characters played by Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith would be leaving the show this year.

More recently Murphy has been spreading his wings into very different types of projects, including last season’s gritty and camp FX series “American Horror Story.”

A rep for Murphy said: “I’m not sure where you heard that, but it is totally false. Ryan is and will continue to be 100 percent involved with and committed to ‘Glee,’ as he is with ‘American Horror Story’ and as he will be with ‘The New Normal.’ ” Wait . . . isn’t that 300 percent?

Amber Riley has a memory of Whitney Houston she will never forget, as the Glee star told us moments go outside the Staples Center before tonight's Grammy Awards.
She met the late singer for the first time just this past Thursday:

"I didn't need her to take a picture with me," Riley told me, describing the encounter at a Kelly Price event in Los Angeles. "I didn't need an autograph. The fact that she even acknowledged that I was standing there was enough for me."

Spring Awakening fans, don’t get your hopes up just yet. But don’t get them down, either?
Despite widespread reports that hit the Web over the past 24 hours, Glee star Lea Michele is not currently engaged in talks to reprise the role she originated in the Broadway production of Spring Awakening in an upcoming film adaptation, a rep for the actress confirmed.
However, in a statement released exclusively to EW, Michele said, “Spring Awakening is so special to me, as is the character Wendla. We have discussed this as a possibility, and we’ll see what happens.”
The story originated yesterday when the film’s director McG (Terminator Salvation, This Means War) told E! Online, “We’re talking to Lea Michele because she made the role of Wendla famous and we’ll see if that pans out and works with the timing of her schedule on [Glee].” As it turns out, those talks happened long ago, and the project has been relatively quiet since — but now that there’s so much buzz and interest on both sides, it may soon find itself picking up steam.

“There were initial talks about this project,” said Michele’s rep. “However, there is nothing confirmed at this time.”
In the film, Michele would reprise the role of Wendla, a part she created in the early workshops and original off-Broadway production of Spring Awakening before it transferred to Broadway in 2006. (She even turned down an offer to play Eponine in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables that same year, opting to stay loyal to Spring Awakening instead.) The show went on to win Best Musical at the 2007 Tony Awards and jump-started Michele’s red-hot career.
The musical, which tells the story of German teenagers discovering their sexuality in the late 19th century, has been rumored to come to the big screen since it closed on Broadway in 2009. McG is attached to direct the film via his production company Wonderland Sound and Vision, which is developing the movie-musical, but at the present time, no studio has greenlit the project just yet.

'Glee' Producers Mulling Whitney Houston Tribute on Tuesday (Audio)

With a cover of Whitney Houston/Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" set to be included in the Tuesday, Feb. 14, episode of Glee, producers of the Fox musical dramedy on Saturday were mulling whether to add a tribute to the late singer during the episode.

The song, which Houston covered in 1992, will be a big number in Tuesday's Glee, with Amber Riley's Mercedes set to perform it as she struggles to decide between ex Sam (Chord Overstreet) and current boyfriend Shane (LaMarcus Tinker).

A spokesman for 20th Television, the studio behind Glee, told The Hollywood Reporter on Saturday that the Valentine's Day-themed episode, titled "Heart," had been finished and delivered to the network on Friday, with Glee producers currently considering going back into the episode to pay tribute to Houston, who died Saturday. A title card possibly dedicating the episode to Houston or acknowledging her passing following the episode would seem an easy addition.

Written by Parton in 1973 and released as a single the following year, the song was covered by Houston for the 1992 feature film The Bodyguard, in which she starred opposite Kevin Costner. Houston's rendition spent 14 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a record at the time, and surpassed her previous record for 1986's "Greatest Love of All" from her debut album. Houston's version went on to win Grammys for record of the year and best female pop vocal performance.
Houston died Saturday. She was 48.

Adam Levine is a singer, a coach and a TV star and now he adds label head to his resume.

The Maroon 5 frontman announced the formation of 222 Records and its first signing: Glee star Matthew Morrison. An album is due out in Spring, according to a release being issued today.
Says Levine of 222’s launch: “Starting my own label has been a long time goal of mine and I am thrilled to be at the point in my career where it is finally happening. I am excited for everyone to hear Matthew’s forthcoming album. Great things are in store for him with this release.”
Morrison will next appear in Lionsgate’s What to Expect When You’re Expecting and is also slated to join George Clooney in a March 3 reading of Dustin Lance Black’s play 8. Levine is current one of four star mentors on NBC’s The Voice.
“Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together,” says Morrison, who released a self-titled album via Mercury Records in May 2011. It peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 200.
According to a source, Levine is currently negotiating with potential distributors while also staffing up to operate like a full-fledged record company with departments such as marketing, radio and publicity.

Chord Overstreet and Chris Zylka look dapper in this feature from VMAN‘s latest issue, featuring French actor Tahar Rahim on the cover.

The 22-year-old Glee star and Chris, 26, worked with photographer Sebastian Faena for a photo shoot featuring Hollywood’s new boys – and future leading men.

“You’re successful when you earn the respect of your peers. I define my success by the work I put into creating a role,” Chris told the mag.

“I thought I was going to play professional baseball,” Chord shared. “But I had a major injury and had to have surgery. So I had to realize that I wasn’t able to play at a professional level anymore.”

VMAN‘s latest issue, which was guest edited by Carine Roitfeld, comes out on Valentine’s Day!

Glee's Lea Michele in Talks for Spring Awakening Movie!

Is Lea Michele gearing up for another Spring Awakening?
We are so excited to exclusively report that the Glee gal could be reprising her role from the hit Broadway musical in the upcoming movie adaptation.
Here's the scoop...

"We're talking to Lea Michele because she made the role of Wendla famous and we'll see if that pans out and works with the timing of her schedule on [Glee]," the flick's director, McG, told us last night at the Hollywood premiere of his new romance action flick This Means War.

The show, which won eight Tony Awards and is based on an 1891 German play of the same name, centers around a group of teenagers dealing with topics including abortion, rape, suicide, masturbation and even some S&M. (Glee, anyone?)
"I love Lea; we've talked about it," McG said. "When I first got turned onto the show she was in it so it's her voice that echoes in my heart. I really think she's wonderful and we'll see where it takes us."
McG said Spring may be his next film project. "It's very similar to the [stage] production," he said. "We're probably going to shoot it in Eastern Europe and it's a very true adaptation of what it is with a little Baz Luhrman thrown in."
