"It's so time consuming, we don't even think about it," Jenna says of she and her costars' work on set. "We're like in a bubble. We all know what we're doing though and stay focused. We don't even realize how hard we're working we're so into it! But we get to sing and dance! It doesn't get better than that."
Jenna says the reserved, gothic character she plays is definitely, "much darker and more pensive," than her real-life personality.
"Tina's shy and quiet. Somewhere in there, I promise I'm a little shy too!" the bubbly actress laughs. "But she's got her insecurities, as we all do. And there are lots of layers to Tina, which there are to me, too."
And with the upcoming love triangle involving Tina's character, we had to know whether Jenna was Team Artie or Team Mike Chang.
"They're very different," she says. "You know Artie and Tina together is just so much fun. But Harry [who plays Mike Chang] has great chemistry with Tina. I'll just have to see where the story arcs take them!"
We told her Kevin McHale, who plays Artie, compares Tina and Artie to Topanga and Cory from 'Boy Meets World.'
"Oh, I totally agree with that," she says. "You know, Tina and Artie will go through their ups and downs and see other people, but in the back of my mind, I always think they'll end up together."
(We asked about Jenna's real-life relationship with Kevin, but the two of them are, "just friends.")
And just who would Jenna like to see on Glee?
"I love Hugh Jackman, and I'm dying to work with Sandra Oh! She could play my crazy aunt or something," she says. Jenna actually dressed up as Sandra's 'Grey's Anatomy' persona, Dr. Christina Yang, this Halloween.
Shooting the Lady Gaga episode of, 'Glee,' and being a gothic vampire have been some of Jenna's favorite parts of the show so far. "And of course, working with Jane Lynch," she says. "Watching her do a scene is like taking an acting class. She's just a comedic genius. She's like our mom on set and we absolutely look up to her, but she's also our good friend."
Jenna says when Jane Lynch came out saying Tina was her favorite character on 'Glee,' it was, "surreal."
"It's so funny, she'd actually told me that before but it didn't really register," Jenna says. "Then when it was in writing, it hit me. I mean it was so cool and such an honor!"
As far as Jenna's hopes for her character, she'd love to see, "a Tina dream sequence." We agree on that, and we're all about Sandra Oh playing a Cohen-Chang!
