Chris Colfer: Dresses to Impress!
Tags chris colfer, general, glee fashionThe Fug Girls Track Chris Colfer’s Most Bananas Glee Outfits
Tonight marks the end of Glee’s third season, and while the formerly ground-breaking musical is now so cartoonish it may belong in Fox’s animation block, at least we'll always have Kurt. Chris Colfer's character gives the show — even at its silliest — a likable beating heart, and the actor earns extra credit for maintaining a relatable emotional core through the trappings of a wardrobe that is arguably Glee’s most farcical, with influences seemingly ranging from the Sound of Music to The Warriors to a Swiffer duster (sometimes all in the same hour). In honor of Kurt’s graduation from McKinley, we’ve picked out some of our favorite outfits from his final season as a high-school student. Whatever his next step is, the sartorial bar will never be higher.

We’re not sure why Kurt’s got a canary-colored feather duster hooked to his pants — a tickle fight seems like weak defense against the slushie-throwing jocks — and the shoes feel hijacked from a Toddlers & Tiaras–themed square dance. In all, it’s like a very strange personal ad: “In his spare time, Kurt enjoys the box-step, collecting Lorax shavings, and delivering telegrams to the impressionable, gazebo-aroused daughters of Austrian naval officers.”

These two garments are deliciously hilarious and impractical — after all, what happens if he wants to raise his arms in the air like he just don’t care? And we aren’t entirely sure what to call that hybrid of a turtleneck, a poncho, a dickey, and a straitjacket. “Dickchoneckjacket” doesn’t quite have the right ring to it. However, it will look wonderful when the local yacht club pastes him on the wall next to all the other semaphore flags.
Lea Michele’s Bangs and Beachy Waves Combo: Get the Look!
Tags glee fashion, lea michele
The bangs and beachy waves combo is one Lea Michele effortlessly mastered, especially this week at a FOX Upfront event in New York City. And it’s a look her hairstylist Sarah Potempa chose carefully. “With Lea’s bangs, this style helps to add volume and texture, and the bouncy waves draw attention to her eyes,” Potempa told InStyle.com. To create the look, Potempa separated the Glee star’s strands into two sections, split each into three horizontal rows, and used her self-rotating Beachwaver ($199; sarahpotempa.com) to create the soft waves. For the finishing touch, she adds: “Remember to wait until both sides have cooled before running fingers through your hair. With this kind of pattern, it needs to stay in that shape until your hair cools.”

Get Naya Rivera’s GLAAD Awards Makeup Look In 6 Steps
Tags appearance, events, glee fashion, naya rivera
Naya’s neutral lips and glowing skin are just six steps away! Follow along with her makeup artist’s how-to.
Celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker created this stunning look for Naya Rivera to wear to the GLAAD awards on March 24. As a Proactiv spokeswoman, Naya’s skin was prepped with Proactiv products and then Jo used a mixture of various beauty goodies to create the makeup look.
- To prep skin, apply Proactiv Refining Mask for 15 minutes. Post-mask, skin is smoother, more radiant and ready for makeup.
- For long-lasting moisture, apply Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer, which also has a brightening effect. Apply another layer directly before makeup application; it serves as a primer because it is rich, but lightweight, and creates a soft, supple surface.
- Use DiorSkin Nude Foundation all over the face for lightweight coverage.
- Softly swipe the cheeks with Kevin Aucoins Celestial Bronzing Veil in Tropical Nights for a subtle warmth and glow. Then, apply a soft, matte blush for a hint of color.
- For a dramatic smoky eye like Naya’s, coat eyes with Smoky Eyes Palette by Dior in Smoky Black.
- Nothing suits a smoky eye better than a nude lip. Use Mac Matte Lipstick Honeylove to finish the look.
TIP: To keep skin matte throughout the night, Naya carried Proactiv Oil Control Blotting Sheets, which absorbed any unwanted oil.

Glee Wedding: Vera Wang to Design Emma Pillsbury’s Wedding Dress?
Tags article, general, glee fashion
Will Shuester (Matthew Morrison) popped the question to Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) on Glee earlier this month, and we caught up with Paul Breuninger, the show’s prop master, to give us the inside scoop on Emma’s wedding dress. “Ryan Murphy (Glee creator) met with Vera Wang, looking at a pink frilly dress for a future episode,” Breuninger hinted. “If it’s chosen, it’ll appear in the next couple of weeks.” The prop master then added: “Yes, I think Vera Wang would be the place for Emma’s dress.” We can’t wait to see it!source: instyle.com

Tags episode 3x14, glee fashion, lea michele
Lea Michele’s character Rachel Berry headed to the courthouse to marry high school sweetheart Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) on last night’s Glee episode—and we got the inside scoop on her bridal look! The ’50s-inspired tea-length dress and veil are custom pieces created by the Glee team in collaboration with Patricia Nevil of the L.A. bridal boutique L’ezu, the show’s costume assistant Mojdeh Daftary explained to InStyle.com. “We were very happy with the episode last night,” Daftary told us. As for the inspiration, they looked to an icon: “We used Audrey Hepburn’s wedding dress in Funny Face as inspiration for Rachel Berry’s dress.” The similarities are clear!

How Hot Will Lea Michele Be at the SAG Awards? Inside Dish on Her Next Red Carpet Look!
Tags general, glee fashion, lea michele
From her People's Choice victory to her sultry style at the Golden Globes, Lea Michele's been a red carpet knockout so far this season. But what will she do next?
We tapped celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis to find out. Inglessis, who also works with Olivia Wilde, Mia Wasikowska and Jaime King, has been doing Lea's makeup since they met at a Glee event three years ago. "We went really natural and beautiful then."
So we asked her to share Lea's favorite look—smoky eyes or hot lips?—the secret to looking great on the red carpet and what style the Glee star might rock this weekend at the SAG Awards...
How do you decide what look Lea is going to rock on the red carpet?
"We wait to see the dress first. This will dictate the look for hair and makeup."
She's gone from bright pink lips to neutral with a major smoky eye for the Golden Globes. Has there been one look that you loved more than the others?
"I really loved the Grammys look two years ago, smoky dark grey eyes and straight hair with that short navy feathery dress."
What's Lea's favorite?
"She likes them all! Everytime we finish a look it's her favorite! She really liked the pink lip at the People's Choice Awards and also the New Year's Eve premiere bronze goddess look."
Can you give us a hint of what you might do for Lea's makeup at the SAG Awards?
"I don't have any ideas as I have not seen the dress yet. But it's not last-minute—we normally know a couple of days early what she'll wear and will discuss."
Do you work it out with her wardrobe and hair stylist?
"It is a collaboration between all of us, including Lea. It's a fun process, for sure. The dress really is the starting point for discussion. Once we know the dress we have a little powwow and pull reference.
What helped you decide on the natural look she wore with that stunning green dress at the SAG Awards in 2010?
The green dress was such a stunning color and with a beautiful cleavage that I really didn't want to distract from that. I wanted to keep it youthful and fresh so we just went with a natural makeup. Any colors would have clashed with the emerald colored dress.
For SAG 2011, Lea wore that stunning white-gold dress. As soon as she tried it on, we all agreed it was a stunner. It had a '70s feel, Jade Jagger, Studio 54. Really sexy. So we decided on a small smoky eye, not too dramatic but still defining her eyes and bring a little sexy into it. Lot of contours and bronze and, of course, a nude lip!
Is there one makeup trick you can share that would make anyone look good on the red carpet?
"Make sure you are not shiny on your T-zone! And a little peach color on the apple of your cheeks always does the trick for me! With a lip, with a smoky eye! It just brightens the face."
What about making the look last all night?
"I always send my clients on the red carpet with a powder and lipstick and whatever else she feels she needs so she can retouch the makeup for the afterparty!"
What would you do for Rachel Berry if she got her big red carpet moment?
"Make her really sexy!"

Glee Gets Splashed—And Stays Smudge-Free in Last Night's Episode
Tags episode 3x10, glee fashion
There was a lot going on during Glee last night—and we're not just talking about the two marriage proposals. (Spoiler alert!) Aside from the dramatic plot twists and over-the-top choreography, we were most impressed by one performance: the makeup. In an amazing rendition of "We Found Love," the cast splashed around in a pool and their mascara didn't budge. We talked to Kelley Mitchell, Glee's makeup department head, to find out how she achieved the look.
You were told that the actresses would be in water and you went for a dramatic red lip?!
"The girls are wearing these amazing 1940's-inspired swimsuits, so my idea was to go with the '40s look, and the hair department did the same. We did a fairly clean eye and a nice black cat eye swoop. I barely had to touch anyone up all day."
How is that possible?
"I knew there was going to be a big underwater number, so I reached out to Make Up For Ever because they're the go-to for all things water-resistant. We used the Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation on everyone and set it with Colorscience loose powder. Diana Agron loved the foundation so much, she now uses it in her personal life."
How did you keep their eye makeup in place?
"I used the Make Up For Ever Eye Seal and Aqua Creams as a base for the eye and used the Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in black for the dramatic cat eye. And then lots of waterproof mascara, of course."
And the lipstick?
"Julie Hewett's lipsticks are triple pigmented and will last, last, last. They're made for those period looks. I used the Coco Noir, Rouge Noir, and Femme Noir depending on the girl and what flattered her skin most. I used the lipstick first, then lip liner after to perfect the edges."
What’s it like to work on the set of Glee?
"It's probably the best job I've ever had. I've been here since the pilot, so I knew all these guys before they were famous. I just adore them all."

"I really like working with Lea, because she gives all of us—hair, makeup and wardrobe—the chance to really collaborate and come up with something that works together," Inglessis said on working with Michele. "She's willing to try anything, and definitely listens to what the experts have to say!"
Lancome Liner Design in Trendy Grey
While many use this product as a liquid liner, Inglessis used the shimmery grey cream as an eyeshadow base. "I blended this all over Lea's eye as a base. It gives the eyeshadow something to really grip on to," she said. "I think using a cream base is the key to making any smoky eye really work. Concentrate most of the color along the lash line, and blend outward using your ring finger or a makeup brush."
Available Spring 2012.
Inglessis used the two darkest shades in this palette to create Michele's sultry smoky eye. "I started by defining her crease and blending in the two colors to create depth," she said. "Layering the colors was key. By building up the colors, I was able to determine how much eyeshadow Lea really needed without going overboard."

69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Naya Rivera
A look at Naya Rivera as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012. Her makeup was done by makeup artist Jo Baker.
Makeup Breakdown
Cleansing Naya’s skin with Proactiv Renewing Cleanser, followed by Revitalizing Toner, made sure her skin was free from all traces of dirt and surface impurities.
I applied Proactiv Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF15 to prime the skin underneath the foundation, creating a soft matte finish. Being oil free, it helps to set her foundation and keep it in place all night long. DiorSkin Nude foundation was ideal, only lightweight coverage was needed. This silky base oozes moisture whilst keeping a smooth finish, showing off Naya’s clear and radiant complexion.
I kept the eyes very simple, a soft grey color wash of Dior Powder Mono Eyeshadow in #053 over her lower lid, lashings of lash enhancing Tarte MultiplEYE mascara and a sprinkling of individual lashes. The most prominent feature of Naya’s Golden Globes look is the NARS Pure Matte lipstick in Mascate, this wonderful berry red shade suits almost every skin tone. It glides on effortlessly with comfortable wear, you forget your wearing lipstick the texture is so yummy and lasts for hours.

69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Dianna Agron
A look at Dianna Agron as she walked the red carpet at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 15th, 2012. Her makeup was done by makeup artist Monika Blunder. For Dianna’s makeup, Monika was inspired by the spring 2012 fashion shows where the makeup was fresh but still very glamorous. Since Dianna’s red Giles dress was so “va va voom,” Monika focused on the lips to be the stand out feature.
Makeup Breakdown
Monika kept Julianna’s skin simple and fresh with a bit of L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Light Ivory to give skin a light glow. Since the focus was kept on her lips, only a small amount of L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Celestial (Pink) was applied to the apples of cheeks.
The bold red lip stole the show; Monika applied L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Bold Bordeaux for lasting shine and pigment. The eyes were highlighted with a hint of L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte with Vaseline applied over it to create added shine.
The L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black was lightly applied around the rim of the eye and Monika applied several coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara in Black to complete the look
Her hair was styled by Adir Abergel for Frederic Fekkai. Abergel wanted a simple and chic up-do that complimented the beautiful and intricate texture of the dress.
Hair Breakdown
Adir began by applying Fekkai COIFF™ Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel on the roots and rough dried the hair with his hands. Next he braided the hair, applying a small amount of Brilliant Glossing Cream to give it texture and shine. Once the hair was dry, Adir took the braids apart, raked the hair with his hands, and created a deep sweeping part angled towards the back of the head. Adir gathered the hair in the back, creating sections of little twists and ultimately pinning them together. He secured the look with Fekkai COIFF™ Sheer Hold Hairspray.

Dianna Argon Shares Style Secrets!
Tags dianna agron, glee fashion, interview
The Glee tour has hit the UK and that means the stars are starting to check out British nightlife. Dianna Agron, who plays Quinn Fabray, was spotted at the Hard Rock Calling Festival with Darren Criss, who plays Blain and their on-screen teacher Mr Schuster, aka Matthew Morrison.
They were rocking out to The Killers, showing that they had singing and dancing skills in real-life as well as on the TV show. Sue Sylvester would be proud!
However, off-screen Dianna dresses more conservatively than her former cheerleader character. On Glee, she’s very feminine but she was dressed more practical at the festival in London’s Hyde Park.
Still, she manages to look gorgeous – sometimes wearing well-cut basics can make you get noticed for looking effortlessly chic rather than wearing bright colours that can attract attention for the wrong reasons.
