GRANT GUSTIN'S 'NIGHTMARE' - FIRST LOOK!

Grant Gustin exploded onto the scene last November as Sebastian, the at-first-nefarious then sorta lovable but still kinda douchey Warbler on Glee. Since then he's not only amassed a loyal fan following, but a major TV movie role!

For his next project, Lifetime tapped the rising star for A Mother's Nightmare, which revolves around Chris Stewart (Gustin), a 16-year-old who falls into a depression after his girlfriend dumps him and his parents split. His emotions are buoyed when a new girl (played by 90210's Jessica Lowndes) moves to town and seduces the boy next door, but later accuses him of rape after he tries to break things good. Shag star Annabeth Gish plays the titular matriarch.

The role not only offers Grant the chance to play the leading man, but also the opportunity to continue projecting the anti-bullying message that was central to his role on Glee. "This is my first film and ... [it] has surpassed any expectations I had," he told ET Canada. Grant also admits that the depression and bullying his character endures is something he could easily relate to. "I was an anxious, maybe a little depressed young man. But I had great people around me, so I could see an end in sight."

That's yet another reason Grant was so elated to take on this part. "To be honest, this is much more me – or who I was – than Sebastian. It's about the same age range but a completely different character, completely different style. It'smuch more up my alley as a human."

Which isn't to say he's opposed to feeling the Glee again next season! "I love doing that show, the fans are great and I'd love to do more," he told ET Canada before adding that the show simply might not have room for his character any longer. "They're doing another season of The Glee Project so they'll be adding another character there and I won't give anything away, but they're bringing in some other new characters as well."

But Grant's fans have plenty of projects to look forward to -- not only will A Mother's Nightmare premiere later this year on Lifetime, but the actor reveals he has officially thrown his hat into the ring to play Finnick in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire! "I have auditioned for the role," he says, confirming lots of fan desire/speculation. "I don't think [the producers] know what they're looking for just yet, but yes, I auditioned for the role."

Grant Gustin Lands Lead in Indie Film 'Affluenza' (Exclusive)!

Glee's Grant Gustin is making the move to the big screen.

The actor best known for playing badboy Sebastian Smythe on the Fox hit has landed the lead role in the New York-set indie Affluenza.

Described as a modern-day take on The Great Gatsby, the film centers on Todd Goodman (Gustin), a preppy alpha male jock who hails from a wealthy family. A turn of events during the financial crisis of 2008 forces him to face life in the real world. Kevin Asch is directing from a screenplay Antonio Macia.

Affluenza is set to begin production next week in Manhattan and Great Neck, N.Y.

Gustin, who this week signed on to mentor contestants on the Oxygen reality show The Glee Project, recently wrapped a starring role in the original Lifetime telefilm A Mother’s Nightmare.

He is repped by Robert Stein Management and CESD.

'The Glee Project' Enlists Dianna Agron, Grant Gustin as Mentors (Exclusive)!

Glee’s Dianna Agron and Grant Gustin are heading to Oxygen.

The “Glee” duo will make their debut with themed episodes “Actability” and “Theatricality.”
The duo have been tapped the final two mentors onThe Glee Project’s second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Agron, who plays the Yale-bound Quinn, will make her debut on the Oxygen reality competition on the Aug. 7 episode, which will feature a new theme: “Actability.”

For his part, Gustin — a recurring player as Dalton Academy Warbler Sebastian — will also make his debut on the Oxygen series, whose winner receives a seven-episode arc on Glee, in the July 17 “Theatricality” hour.

Agron and Gustin join fellow first-time mentors including Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera and Jane Lynch, who oversees Tuesday’s “Fearlessness” episode.

Upcoming mentors include Amber Riley (“Tenacity”), Darren Criss (“Romanticality”) and Chris Colfer, who will oversee the “Glee-ality” Season 2 finale on Aug. 14.

Grant Gustin to Star in Lifetime Movie!

Annabeth Gish and Jessica Lowndes round out the cast in "A Mother's Nightmare."



Grant Gustin is going from Fox's Glee to a Lifetime movie.

The actor, who plays bad boy Sebastian on the Fox musical dramedy, has been tapped to star in the Lifetime telefilm A Mother's Nightmare, opposite Annabeth Gish and Jessica Lowndes, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Shelley Gillen penned the pic, which revolves around Chris Stewart (Gustin), a handsome and athletic 16-year-old depressed over his parents' breakup and cheerleader girlfriend's defection. When a new girl, Vanessa (90210's Lowndes) arrives, she works her seductive wiles on Chris, accusing him of assault when he tries to pull back from their relationship. Gish will play his mother.

Larry Gershman and Meyer Shwarzstein executive produce. The film is set to begin production next week in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. An air date has not yet been determined.
For Gustin, the role marks his latest small-screen credit for the actor, who could potentially end up series regular on the fourth season of Glee.
