We have been keeping an eye on this project since its early development and its seems like its pushing forward with even more casting. THR’s Heat Vision is reporting that Glee actress Dianna Agron has signed on for the female romantic lead in the D.J. Caruso-directed I Am Number Four, DreamWorks’ adaptation of the upcoming young-adult science-fiction book by James Frey and Jobie Hughes. Agron will play a girl dating a high school jock who falls for Number Four (Alex Pettyfer) and becomes his confidante.
Agron is best known as the former flame of Finn Hudson in the hit Fox series, Glee. Her character Quinn Febray was the former cheerleader now turned member of Glee club and expecting mother. She is probably the one character who has done the most growing during the show and its first season. I am excited about seeing her in this film. She is gorgeous and is perfect for this role.
Sharlto Copely is also in the cast as Number Four’s mentor and Teresa Palmer will also be in the film as Number Six, a fellow alien and friend to Number Four.
I Am Number Four revolves around a group of nine aliens who escaped their home planet just before it was annihilated by a rival species. Hiding out on Earth, the title character, to be played by British actor Alex Pettyfer, disguises himself as a human high schooler, only to discover he’s still being hunted by his planet’s enemy.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the screenplay. The film is directed by D.J. Caruso and produced by Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.
