Justin Timberlake and Leona Lewis are two of the big names rumoured to be heading to McKinley High next season.
But Ian Brennan, co-creator of FOX's hit TV musical series Glee, is staying mum.
"No comment," Brennan said with a coy smile when asked if the singers had indeed signed on for Glee's second season.
"We have hilarious, awesome people coming up. One of them who agreed to come do it is so fantastic. Most of this stuff will be settled pretty soon and maybe you'll know who I'm talking about."
Brennan was at the Banff World Television Festival on Wednesday to present a master class and spoke to journalists about the success of Glee, which is based on his experiences in high school musical theatre.
While Brennan is excited about the show's upcoming guests, he doesn't want Glee to become a parade of stars every week.
"We don't want it to be The Love Boat," he explained.
"We've said that from the beginning. But it's hard when you have people calling you up who really want to be on the show. It's like, 'Cool, but how are we going to do that? What would you be doing in Lima, Ohio?'"
Brennan also spoke glowingly of Calgary-born cast member Cory Monteith, who plays football quarterback and glee club hunk Finn Hudson.
"That was a really hard part to cast," said Brennan.
"But there was something about him. It sounds a little douchey and I don't really mean it like this, but the kid playing that role sort of had to be Canadian. I think if Cory was American he wouldn't be the same kid. There's something open and earnest ... (He's) kind of a doofus and weird in his body. He just has this amazing combination of a million things. I thought he was the guy early on. He's really good and has a great presence."
