WARNING: SPOILER!
MANILA, Philippines — Fans who have been waiting for the return of Charice's character, Sunshine Corazon, on "Glee" will have to hold their breaths longer. After Charice’s revelation during the “1 @ 11” concert last Jan. 8 that she's slated to appear on “Glee” for at least five more episodes, the hit TV show’s creator Ryan Murphy confirmed so — and that these will be aired at the end of the year.
“She’s coming back in a big way. We’re finishing the year with her. She’s coming back for five episodes at the end of the year.
She’s gonna be great. Lots of big, big ballads for Charice,” Murphy told ABS-CBN News in an interview aired on “TV Patrol” last Jan. 21.
This is contrary to earlier reports that have placed Charice's return on the show right after Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6. It was also rumored that Charice would be performing the Black Eyed Peas’ hit “Meet Me Halfway” together with New Directions’ rival, Vocal Adrenaline.
“Glee” star Kevin McHale, who plays the role of wheelchair-bound Artie, expressed his anticipation to work with Charice anew.
“Charice is awesome, we love her. We can’t wait till she comes back,” said he.
The forthcoming post-Superbowl episode titled “Thriller” will mark the show’s return to TV from its winter break. Said to be the most expensive post-Super Bowl episode ever, it will feature the already much-talked about mash-up of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Heads Will Roll.”
Aside from the “Thriller/Heads Will Roll” mash-up and “Meet Me Halfway,” other songs that are reported to be featured on the episode are Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now,” Katy Perry’s “California Gurls,” and Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills.”
