Wetpaint EXCLUSIVE! Chris Colfer Dishes on Kurt’s Love Triangle!

WARNING SPOILERS!

The award ceremony is upon us, Gleeks! We had a chance to chat with almost everyone from the Glee cast at the TCAs on January 13 — including Chris Colfer (Kurt)! Read on for how Chris feels about being a Warbler, what’s in store for his character’s love life, and maybe most importantly: What he’s wearing to the Globes!

Wetpaint: We assume at some point by the end of the season you'll be back to McKinley.
Colfer: I certainly hope so. I miss them.

Wetpaint: Yeah?
Colfer: Yeah. I miss being there. I miss being around Jane and Matt and everyone else.

Wetpaint: Where do you do the other school stuff at?
Colfer: We film in Pasadena actually. Not too far from here.

Wetpaint: Oh, really? Okay. Like in a private school or is it a house?
Colfer: Like some kind of a... I don't know what it is. Some, you know, old, creepy place that looks like a school.

Wetpaint: It has to be gratifying to see that the team believed in you and what you could pull off.
Colfer: Yes.

Wetpaint: Tell me a little bit about what you've experienced so far, having been front and center in the bullying storyline.
Colfer: You know, it scares the hell out of me when they throw all this dramatic material at me. When they threw that episode at me when Kurt claimed he was an atheist I almost had a heart attack. Like, “How am I going to pull this off?” But I think the best thing to do is just handle whatever storyline they give to me with as much honesty as possible. And it should take care of itself.

Wetpaint: You're the guy that they kind of found and said, “Let's find a role for him,” and now you're kind of carrying the ball in a good portion of the show.
Colfer: Oh, well, thank you. I'm like the Make-A-Wish kid a little bit. They kind of discovered me and thank God they did. It's been quite a journey for me personally from having, like, a line in the pilot to, as you said, kind of being really in the front running. And it's very flattering that they think I can handle it. Sometimes I question if I can.

Wetpaint: Do you read about yourself?
Colfer: I used to, but I remember I read something very not-so-nice after the second episode of the first season.

Wetpaint: I didn't write it. I swear.
Colfer: That’s all right. I believe you.

Wetpaint: Now what sort of teaser can you give us? What's coming around the corner without giving away anything that's going to get you in trouble?
Colfer: Well, actually the world pretty knows about as much as I do. Just kind of some development with the love triangle. Oh, triangle. Triangle. I wasn't supposed to say triangle. Oh, well. It's out there now. There's a bit of a love triangle with Kurt and Mike.

Wetpaint: We’ve been waiting all season for a real boyfriend.
Colfer: Well, we'll find out.

Wetpaint: So Darren Criss's character is still very much in school with you and part of the mix?
Colfer: Yes. And Kurt's still in love with him and waiting for a sign.

Wetpaint: I don't blame him. Is the Karofsky plotline still going?
Colfer: It is. And it's great that I'm at another school. That storyline is being developed behind-the-scenes if you will.

Wetpaint: One quick question about the Globes outfit that you're going to put together. Have you put a lot of thought into it? Are you going to go traditional?
Colfer: No, I never really have gotten too much into the fashion aspect of anything. I'm just wearing a nice, basic, plain Dior suit.
