'Glee' star Cory Monteith meets Prince Harry and learns a Twitter lesson

Flint area ‘Glee’ fans have been restless for a new episode. They’ve also been talking about the ‘Glee’ take on Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ in a special episode slated to air after the Super Bowl on Fox. One Flint gleek said, ‘I can’t wait to see ‘Glee’ do ‘Thriller’. They’re going to rock. I just know it.’ ‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith stopped by ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ last night to talk about past jobs, the ‘Thriller’ mash up and learning a Twitter lesson before tweeting a photo when he met Prince Harry.

Kimmel remarked how people are crazy when they see him and they scream and they yell because ‘Glee’ is so huge. Monteith said, ‘Yeah, it’s been crazy, just getting used to some of these reactions from people since the show started being a success.’ Kimmel said they’re all very positive. Monteith said, ‘Yeah. Not a lot of people are coming up to me saying, we hate your show.’

Kimmel asked when he first realized that he had to start watching where he went and what he did. Monteith admitted that he learned the hard way as a new user on Twitter. He said, ‘Lea Michele took me to my first Broadway musical and I was super excited and I was like new to Twitter, new to the whole celebrity thing. I was like ‘super stoked to go to my first Broadway show ever with Lea Michele, yea!' But it was on a night when there was only 1 or 2 shows playing on Broadway and they were both across the street from each other. But I didn’t think about that so when we came out of the show there was a lot of people, like a mob scene. We were like, whoa, what’s going on, this is crazy.’

When Monteith was shooting the movie ‘Monte Carlo’ in Monaco he went on a trip to London. He told Kimmel he ran into Prince Harry 'just chillin’' sitting at a folding table with 3 of his buddies and drinking beer. When got his picture taken with him he learned his lesson before on Broadway, and waited to tweet the photo.

Kimmel teased Monteith about his age, saying, ‘You play a teenager in high school but you’re actually 53 years old.’ Monteith said he was 28. Kimmel also remarked that he had dropped out of high school in the 9th grade and that he had been in TV high school longer than actual high school. Monteith agreed. He also said, ‘I started working when I was really young. I’ve worked a billion jobs. I was a Wal-Mart people greeter for a while. I washed cars in car lots. School bus driver for a while (for a day care company).’

They discussed the special football-themed episode of ‘Glee’ that Fox will air on Sunday, February 6th, after the Super Bowl. Monteith said they will be ‘firing people out of cannons’ at the top of the episode. He also confirmed that the ‘Glee’ cast is doing a ‘Thriller’ mash up with ‘Heads Will Roll’. He finished by saying, ‘We’re all zombie out. It’s pretty cool.’
