Portrait Magazine: 2010- 2011 Top 10 Young TV Ships

#8. Santana Lopez & Brittany S. Pierce [Glee]
“We’ve got it covered.”

They started off as Quinn’s sidekicks but rose to popularity in their own right as partners in crime with their unique and entertaining relationship. Santana’s feisty and worldy, where Brittany is kind and ditzy. They’re the yin to each other’s yang and fit perfectly and together they work best. Whether they’re hugging, laughing, making out, holding pinkies, or strutting about showing off their obvious hotness, the screen lights up when these two are around. They accept each other for who they are – Brittany doesn’t care that Santana’s a bit abrasive, and Santana never judges Brittany for her innocence. These two are like macaroni and cheese – two different things that work together and are oh so delicious!

Classic Shipper Moment: With so many moments to choose from, it’s hard to pick just one but we’re going with their awesome performance of Me Against the Music in 2x02: Britney/Brittany.

#7. Kurt Hummel & Blaine [Glee]
“On the upside, I’m in love with him and he’s actually gay. I call that progress.” Courage. It’s what makes us brave in love and it’s the foundation of Kurt and Blaine’s relationship. Blaine gives Kurt the courage not to give up and to know that there’s light at the end of the tunnel, and both give each other courage to know that there’s somewhere out there like them and that they’re not alone. We love that not only does Blaine help Kurt out and become a good friend to him, but also that Blaine feels comfortable around Kurt and free to be himself around him if their duet of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside is Anything to Go By.” For now, Blaine’s the mentor and cool older friend, with Kurt as the young prodigy with that special spark, but fans can only sit and wait in anticipation for what happens next between them.

Classic Shipper Moment: It’s a tough call, but we’re going with the scene where Kurt helps Blaine practice “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” in 2x10: A Very Glee Christmas. Not only is it a hint of what could be, and an endearingly adorable scene, but it also shows how comfortable they are around each other.

#3. Quinn Fabray & Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman [Glee]
“Did you ever love me?” “Yes. Especially now.”

It started off as the best friend and the girlfriend who had hooked up behind the golden boy’s back, but then she realised she was pregnant, changing everything. No one said that change is bad though. In fact, this change was for the better, making Quinn and Puck realise what they want out of life. No more pretending for starters. Puck has a reputation for being a bit of a bad ass, but as he and Quinn grew closer, we couldn’t help but notice the ways that she inspired him to be a better man. Notice how Puck seemed to be in less trouble while he and Quinn were developing their relationship and preparing for the birth of Beth? We’re not convinced it was a coincidence that after Beth was given up for adoption and these two went their separate ways in season two that Puck ended up in juvie. She makes him want to be a better person and even though she’s with someone else right now, we’re sure he can prove himself and win her over again.

Classic Shipper Moment: At first Puck pitched a childish name for their unknown baby and Quinn was not impressed. Later on, he wins her over by singing KISS’s “Beth”, before saying he’d really like it if Quinn named their baby Beth, and also asked Quinn if it would be okay if he was there with her when she gave birth. Overcome with emotion, Quinn couldn’t speak and just nodded tearfully.

Puck: I know you’re giving her up, but before you do, I think you should name her Beth. If you’ll let me, I’d really like to be there when she’s born. I’d really like to meet her.

#2. Noah ‘Puck’ Puckerman & Rachel Berry [Glee]
“That’s not true. I kinda like her”

Considering these two haven’t had much character interaction over this past year, yet manage to stay steady in 2nd place for a 2nd year running., just goes to show how amazing you all think this ship is. This ship doesn’t need a whole heap of scenes to prove their amazing chemistry or how awesome they are - we can see it in a look, a touch, or a line. That being said, we can’t wait for these two to have a duet together because if these little things make us fangirls squee and convince us of their awesomeness, we know that the two of them conveying all that through song TOGETHER will be dynamite!

Puck and Rachel are more than just two hot Jews. It’s not just their chemistry that has fans enthralled, but the way they are with each other. We love how Puck is usually the first or one of the first to stand up for Rachel or say something nice about her when others rag on her. We love their honesty – unlike when they’re with other people and feel the need to alter themselves around their partners, when they’re with each other, they’re not afraid to just be themselves. Importantly, they accept each other flaws and all. Seeing as these two are both currently single, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they’ll try again!

Classic Shipper Moment: Actions speak louder than words, and considering how much Finn declares he loves Rachel, we find it ironic that when Rachel needs help or someone insults her, it’s Puck most of the time who’s the first person to come to her defence. We can list quite a few times this has happened, including when Vocal Adrenaline threw eggs at her. It was Puck who stood up and got outraged on Rachel’s behalf and demanded the guys go out there with him and defend Rachel’s honour for her!

Puck: This is bull! Finn, Mike, Matt, come with me!”
