Staples Canada "Talks the Talk and Dances the Dance" during the back-to-school season

Glee star, Heather Morris, helps Canada's largest office supply retailer celebrate the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

RICHMOND HILL, ON, July 27, 2011 /CNW/ - Staples, Canada has put a whole new spin on their traditional advertising campaign by stepping out with a new version of their "Most Wonderful Time of Year" commercial, which features Glee cast member, Heather Morris, who plays Brittany Pierce on the hit show.

"She is the perfect fit for our campaign. Her upbeat personality and great dance moves bring our theme song to life. Parents and students alike will be tapping their feet as they gear up for the back-to-school season," said Sandy Salmon, Director of Advertising for Staples Canada.

The commercial first airs on August 1, and viewers will have fun watching Morris—accompanied by the Staples Dancers—show her dance moves in the aisles to a ramped up version of the song, It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

"We filmed the commercial in a local Staples store," Salmon continued, "And we think it will be a real hit with both students and parents, thanks to the fresh and playful spirit of optimism it exudes."

I've seen two versions of this commercial - The first version at the end she shakes her tata's. The second version at the end that part is no longer shown. When I first saw it I thought why have that in a Staples commercial - Guess others felt the same way - Didn't bother me, but wasn't necessary.

Personally, this commercial angers me. I was an employee at Staples for years and was always quite proud of our ad campaigns. Just because you put a Glee 'star' in a commercial doesn't mean you should. It doesn't support the Most Wonderful Time of the Year campaign and does not fit with the Staples messaging. It's trashy, annoying and, quite frankly, the dancing is not very good. I think Staples needs a new Director of Advertising....

This is the dumbest Staples commercial I've seen. This Glee star barely has time to squeeze in any moves and the ones she does are so short and meaningless that it makes her look so stupid.. and her wink seals her stupidity fate.

What a stupid commercial!!! It makes blonde women look like bimbos rather than have any link to education, which would have been more appropriate. It is the Barbie syndrome all over again. It isn't funny or entertaining and has NOTHING to do with going back to school...If Staples thinks that it was a "good fit", then they totally missed the boat!!! GET WITH THE TIMES STAPLES!!!

Well, it's official: Heather Morris is a major bimbo, as demonstrated by this commercial. It's also clear from the scenes that she behaves like an amateur who's never been in front of a camera. Can't act, dance maybe, but can't act, and clearly is a bimbo.

I hate the Staples ad with Heather Morris in it. No offence, but that ad is neither, entertaining, amusing or interesting in any way. The other ad with the Modern family actor (the small boy), is waaaaaay better. Why couldn`t they have got Heather Morris to perform WITH the other Staples employees, without making her do her moves last, so as to say that her moves are better than theirs` (atleast that`s how I interpreted it)

I Totally agree with all of the other posts. I HATE this commercial. It is so stupid and makes staples look pathetic and trashy. Her dancing is not very good and the wink just tops it off. The advertising agency that produced this campaign should be fired!

I found the ad entertaining and Heather nice eye candy. Perhaps because I don't shop there I am not as irritated as the other viewers.
