Glee's Darren Criss has joked he's found the secret to showbiz success - riding the "coat-tails" of Daniel Radcliffe.
The 24-year-old actor, who first came to fame after co-writing and featuring in musical Potter parodies which became surprise YouTube hits, is set to take over from the Harry Potter star as the lead in Broadway musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying in January 2012.
"I've made a decent career out of following Daniel Radcliffe's footsteps so this'll just be another example of me riding his coat-tails," he quipped at the LA premiere of Glee: The 3D Concert Movie.
While Darren's character Blaine has been promoted to series regular for the show's third season, he couldn't hope for better storylines than he's already been given.
"I keep saying I've been very spoiled, Blaine was very spoiled, with a very involved storyline that I could never have asked for, that was so much more than I could ever have dreamed of," he admitted.
"So if Blaine doesn't end up doing anything in season three, I'm fine with that. The writers do what they want, but this isn't a show about four or five people in an apartment, it's about 14-plus high school kids. There are so many stories and, as a fan of the show, there are so many characters that I would love to explore and people with so much potential that I want to see."
Glee: The 3D Concert Movie opens in UK cinemas on August 19.
