GLEEKS from across the globe descended on Birmingham yesterday to see the show’s stars during a three-day convention at the Hilton Metropole.
Hundreds of fans from as far away as Italy and Brazil spent the weekend meeting and greeting actors from the smash US musical comedy.
The stars spent time answering questions, judging fancy dress competitions and talking about the famous high school Glee Club, New Directions.
Max Adler plays bully boy and McKinley High athlete Dave Karofsky and admitted he was shocked at how successful the show had become.
“I thought the programme would do well but to have world-wide appeal, that’s amazing,” he said.
“It’s the most incredible thing that people have come from all over the world to see us, but it shows Glee is a common interest. It helps people feel as though they fit in.
‘‘Fans as young as eight and as old as 65 have come to see us. It’s been a pleasure meeting them.”
