'Glee' Celebrates 300th Musical Number with an Adele Mashup + Spoilers!

Glee 300th Musical Performance Glee

Today was a big milestone for the cast and crew of "Glee." They filmed their 300th musical performance this morning and we were there!

The 300th performance is a mashup of Adele's hits "Rumor Has It" and "Someone Like You" and features leads by Amber Riley & Naya Rivera. Spoiler alert - Naya (Santana) and Heather Morris (Brittany) have also left New Directions for the rival glee club led by Idina Menzel's Shelby Corcoran. The club also includes Vanessa Lengies' character Sugar. Guess we'll have to tune in to see what caused these cheerios to trade sides.

So how did the Adele mashup come to be? Amber Riley sent Ryan Murphy and the producers a video of Adele saying she wanted her to sing her songs on the show. Well, Adele's wish has come true and the singer has even given the mashup her blessing. The 300th performance will appear in the November 15 episode.

After the performance of the mashup, the cast and creators sat down for a Q&A where we found out some exciting things coming up on the show.

Ryan Murphy spilled that fan favorite Jonathan Groff will be returning to the show for some episodes and also how the kids from "The Glee Project" will fit into the mix. "[Alex Newell] is going to come on and have many scenes with Jonathan Groff who is the coach of Vocal Adrenaline this year," Ryan said. "[Alex] is going to be the love child of Kurt and Mercedes and will turn to them for much advice."

Next week, you'll be introduced to Damian McGinty, the winner of "The Glee Project," who will play new student Rory. Damian revealed, "My character is Rory Flanigan and he's coming in, he's Irish, thank God. If he was American, this would have been a very short relationship. He comes in and he's having a really tough time fitting in and getting bullied a lot. He's very young and happy."

In addition to Damian, runner up Lindsay Pearce will be returning to "Glee" in episode 8. "She's the Rachel of her school and she'll be competing against [New Directions]," Ryan Murphy spilled. Sam Larsen will be coming in around episode 10 or 11 after the Christmas break when the students return for a new semester.

Since the cast is on song 300, we had to know what their favorite performance from the show so far has been. Chris Colfer chose "Bad Romance" and said "it's not every day you get to dress up like Lady Gaga unless you're Kurt Hummel."

Kevin McHale went with the mashup of "House Is Not A Home/One Less Bell," while Darren Criss had a hard time picking. "I'd say any of the numbers that the girls have sung solo...they have really good voices. All the guys suck on this show," he joked. "I'm quite partial to anything Amber has sung. I always cry for no apparent reason."

Here's what the rest of the cast chose as their favorites:

-Matthew Morrison - "Trouty Mouth," "Hate On Me" and "No Air"
-Lea Michele - "Get Happy"/"Happy Days" mashup
-Cory Monteith - "Rehab" & "Bust Your Windows"
-Amber Riley - "Hold Your Hand" and "Don't Rain On My Parade"
-Naya Rivera - "Never Going Back Again"
-Jenna Ushkowitz - "As If We Never Said Goodbye"
-Dianna Agron - She had a hard time choosing but said she had the most fun with "Time Warp."
-Harry Shum Jr - "Somebody to Love" by Queen
-Heather Morris - "Never Going Back Again" and "One"
-Damian McGinty - "Jessie's Girl"
-Mark Salling - "Defying Gravity"

So crazy to think that "Glee" has had 300 performances already. You can expect one tribute episode this season that is going to be big. Ryan Murphy and the producers have been working on it for two years! We're dying to know who it will be a tribute to. Check out photos from the performance and Q&A here.

Can you believe the cast of "Glee" has sold over 36 million songs digitally and 11 million albums worldwide. Crazy! We were so happy we got to be a part of the 300th performance and we can't wait for "Glee" to return next Tuesday, November 1 at 8pm on FOX.

What's your favorite song from "Glee"?
