Amber Riley's Glee character Mercedes Jones is no stranger to fierce diva style and now Amber is getting the chance to take the stage with some of her award-winning peers to raise money for AIDS.
Amber has been added to the lineup for the 21st annual Divas Simply Singing, an AIDS benefit concert taking place Saturday, October 22 in Los Angeles. The star-studded event -- organized by actress and activist Sheryl Lee Ralph -- will include performances by Grammy-winner Bonnie Pointer, R&B singer Kelly Price, hip-hop artist Yo-Yo and Frenchie Davis from NBC's The Voice.
There will also be a reunion of Broadway’s original Dreamgirls, Jennifer Holliday, Loretta Devine and Ralph herself, who will take the stage to celebrate 30 years since the musical's iconic debut.
Divas Simply Singing -- the longest consecutive running musical HIV/AIDS benefit concert in the U.S. -- was created to help raise awareness and erase the stigma associated with the virus.
