Glee’s Darren Criss Wants Big Klaine Shakeup in Season 3 — Exclusive!

Oh no! Could Klaine be headed for a bona fide relationship crisis? With Grant Gustin’s Sebastian kicking around Glee as the Warbler on a mission to steal Blaine from Kurt (Chris Colfer), we asked Darren Criss himself to assuage our anxiety about Klaine’s future.

So, will they break up?

“I don’t know,” the actor told Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively at the Golden Globes’ A Night of Firsts in Los Angeles. “We have to find out.”

Ok, fiiiine. But while Darren won’t spill the beans on the couple’s ultimate destiny, he isn’t opposed to rocking that relationship boat a little this season.

“I like having Sebastian around. I just like seeing him around. I’m a big fan of Grant. And I think it’s time that we shake things up a little bit,” Darren says, echoing sentiments expressed by his on-screen other half, Chris, last month — much to the chagrin of Klaine fanatics everywhere.

As if this potential love triangle isn’t keeping the actor busy enough, Darren’s also in the process of getting ready for his Broadway debut. On January 3rd, he takes over the lead role from Daniel Radcliffe in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.

“I’m very excited, but I haven’t had a chance to even think about it because I’m doing so much with Glee,” he admits. “It’s just a very busy time of the year. Most of the rehearsals been kind of my own homework at home. And in between takes of Glee.”

Of course, this Tuesday, December 13, is the last dose of Glee before the holidays, with a Season 3 episode called “Extraordinary Merry Christmas,” and it seems that Darren is just as excited to relish in it as we are.

“Oh my God. I can’t wait to see it,” he gushes. “If you’re a lover of Old Hollywood like I am, you’re going to love this episode.”

Of course another factor that makes the holiday romp so great is that is was directed by Mr Schuester himself, Matthew Morrison.

“Matt did a wonderful job, and I think people are really going to love the episode for sure,” says Darren. “It’s so fun to have a friend — well, obviously, they’re all our friends — but to have a real colleague who’s seen both sides of the camera. [That’s] really nice to work with.”
