Although many Glee couples are actually on the show now, or at one time existed as canon, there are still plenty of others that fans continue to ship in the hope that one day they’ll become real. And here we arrive at the Faberry (Fabray and Berry) paradox. It’s a clash of two Glee worlds through Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele), two Glee characters that fans desperately want to see as a couple on the show.
Across the internet on sites like Tumblr, Livejournal, and countless others, the Faberry ship lives on beyond the show in fiction. How powerful is the fan base? Faberry shippers actually helped the would-be Glee couple win E! Online’s TV’s Top Couples Tournament. A fake couple winning a made-up contest. Stranger things have happened.
Each time Glee creator Ryan Murphy and the writing staff hints that Quinn and Rachel may be secretly in love, Faberry shippers go nuts. But nothing ever happens. It’s starting to get a little Pavlovian if you ask me, but …
Too bad for Faberry shippers, because the fairy tale was over before it began. It’s not like fans will see a Brittana ending. Who knows how that storyline will wrap anyway. The fact that fans now consider the Faberry relationship to be Glee canon simply because of a few hugs and a strong friendship between the two former enemies is far (far) fetched.

Brittana is a direct result of fans who jumped on one line from Season 1 when Brittany said, “If it were, Santana and I would be dating.” It was a blink-and-you-miss-it moment. But when that little gem went viral, it set off an incredible chain reaction that finally culminated in a romantic relationship between Brittany and Santana. But here’s the big difference: Santana is actually a lesbian and Brittany may be bi-curious. Her words, not ours.
So far on Glee we have no indication that either Quinn or Rachel are remotely gay.
That isn’t to say Faberry is impossible. First and foremost, though, there just isn’t enough time left in Season 3 for a real relationship to manifest. Quinn and Rachel are both seniors and chances are that their time on Glee is almost over. Although it could turn into a Degrassi-like storyline on Glee where the college kids still get screen time, we don’t know yet if Dianna Agron will be back for Season 4. We know that Lea Michele will be back, but where does that leave any possibility of a Faberry reality?

How many of you Gleeks out there would actually support a high school marriage? Surely, more than just two or three of you would find it hard to support a friend in the same predicament.
As a character, Quinn has rebounded from a lot in the past three years. Now she has to somehow deal with a return to school after her horrific car accident from texting while driving. Will Rachel feel guilty? Probably, but she didn’t force Quinn to answer the phone. Although Dianna Agron continues to feed the Faberry fire when she tweets pictures, it’s not nice to get the hopes of fans up for nothing.
But who knows what will happen on Glee. In the end, maybe the Faberry joke is on me.
