(Sunday Herald Sun) - Australian singer Gotye says he is getting used to fame after his song, "Somebody That I Used to Know," rocketed to the top of the US charts.
But Gotye -- real name Wally de Backer, from Melbourne -- has revealed some of the fame fallout has frustrated him.
While the version from TV hit "Glee" gave the song a huge boost, Gotye has mixed feelings about the rendition.
"They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals, but the vocals were that pop 'Glee' style. It made it sound dinky and wrong."
Last week, his song reached No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making Gotye one of only four Australian artists to have achieved the feat, following Savage Garden, INXS and Men At Work.
"I wrote the song and everything else has been a series of surprises," he said.
"In a way, after you've made a record, you've made it and everything else that happens feels like you are a bystander."
