Baz Luhrmann Would Love to Direct 'Glee'

Acclaimed musical-maker Baz Luhrmann has given "Glee" his seal of approval and asked TV bosses to let him direct an episode of the hit show. The Australian director, who won two Oscars for his 2001 movie musical "Moulin Rouge!", admits he is a big fan of the high school singing show and is desperate to get involved.

And Luhrmann has even approached creator Ryan Murphy about taking over the set as a guest director. He tells MTV.com, "I'm a great fan of Glee
. I spoke to Ryan. I tried to find a moment to do an (episode) with him. I'd love to do that. I think those kids are phenomenal. Just to do that every week, the discipline."

"When I made Moulin Rouge! it was like, 'You've got to be kidding, a musical with contemporary tracks, that will never work.' So if I could (direct an episode), I'd love to... I'd like to contribute to that."
