Will Lea Michele Go See Lauren Ambrose in Funny Girl?

If you haven't heard by now, Lea Michele will not be starring in the revival of Funny Girl, the Broadway show that made her icon, Barbra Streisand, a star back in the 1960s.

Lauren Ambrose, as I was the first to tell you, will be headlining the much-anticipated production.
So what does Michele, who was presumed to be the top choice to belt out iconic tunes like "Don't Rain On My Parade" and "People," think of the Six Feet Under star getting the job?

"Honestly, I'm a huge fan of Lauren's and I can't wait to see it," Michele told me at yesterday's L.A. premiere of Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. "I might be in the audience singing along."
And then she added with a laugh, "I might even storm the stage."

Hey, it's not like she doesn't have Glee to keep her busy. Whoever thought there would be a concert tour followed by a movie just two years after the series began?

"I didn't think we'd meet the president or that we'd be on Oprah," Michele said. "Who knew we'd be doing any of these things?"

So what's next? "I don't know, but they'll figure it out," Michele said.

Chris Colfer offered, "Are we going to perform on Mars? Is there a cartoon coming?"
Now that's an idea—a Saturday morning Glee cartoon.

Get on it, Ryan Murphy.
