Dianna Agron sings on as #Spiritday Ambassador!

Actress Dianna Agron has signed on as a Spirit Day Ambassador! Spirit Day Ambassadors are committed to taking a stand against bullying while showing their support for LGBT youth. She joins other celebrities like Shay Mitchell, George Takei, and Shaquille O'Neal, as well as LGBT advocates with powerful stories like trans advocate Janet Mock and anti-bullying advocate Jordan Addison.

Dianna said about Spirit Day:

Everyone wants to feel special. Loved. Included. Are you going to be the person to prevent that from happening? I know I am not, not ever, and I feel compelled to do everything I can in this lifetime to encourage others to be loving and supportive people. Not everyone is going to be like you, and how boring would it be if they were! Let love in and be love. Those are the words that I live by. What are the words that you choose to live by? Think about it.

Now in its third year, Spirit Day is annual day in October when millions of Americans wear purple to speak out against bullying and to show their support for LGBT youth. Supporters can "purple their profiles" on Facebook and Twitter, RSVP on Facebook, and plan to wear purple this Friday, October 19.

Dianna is a longstanding equality advocate, devoting much of her time to organizations such as GLSEN, The Trevor Project and GLAAD. Dianna is also the founder of YouMeAndCharlie.com, a blog about finding inspiration through all different kinds of art.

In June of 2012, Dianna hosted the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco. "Some of you may know I grew up in the Bay Area, so to be hosting this event is truly wonderful and very surreal," Agron told the crowd at the show. "Thanks to GLAAD, we have a group of people working to be sure that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people are being depicted in the media with fair and accurate portrayals."

Backstage, Dianna made a few new friends, challenging some youngsters to a duel. Who were the lucky kids? None other than Cruz, Jude, Tate and Morgan -- children of ousted Boy Scouts mom Jennifer Tyrrell, who launched a Change.org petition calling on the Scouts to end its long history of discrimination has . Dianna even added her own name to the long list of supporters!

Join Dianna and go purple on Facebook and Twitter by turning your profle pictures purple! Use GLAAD's #SpiritDay tool and after you turn your profile pictures purple, spread the word by posting to Twitter and Facebook.
