In the holiday episode airing Dec. 7 (8 ET/PT), the cheerleading coach manages to replace all of their names with hers. "I was everybody's Secret Santa, and I got all the presents," Lynch teases. But when the students give them away to poor children, Sue dons "green camo makeup" in a nod to Dr. Seuss' classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas, only to "steal it back and revel in my treasures," she says.
Cheerio Becky (Lauren Potter) is dressed up like the Grinch's reindeer/dog Max, and Brittany (Heather Morris) "looks an awful lot like Cindy Lou Who," the child who still believes in Santa, Lynch says. (The Seuss estate licensed rights to the characters but didn't allow their use in publicity photos.)
Finn (Cory Monteith) brings some Christmas cheer (a tree) to McKinley High, while the soundtrack features a duet with k.d. lang and Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) for the classic song You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. It's part of a 12-song Glee Christmas album, released Nov. 16, that's No. 8 on Billboard's top album chart.
The episode marks Glee's last original until a post-Super Bowl outing on Feb. 6, in which Emmy-winning Lynch promises a Sue "temper tantrum the likes of which you've never seen on Glee."
