GLEE-Wind: "A Very Glee Christmas"

"The Most Wonderful Day of the Year" (HQ Show Version)

This is the show version of "The Most Wonderful Day of the Year" which has Dianna Agron (Quinn) singing the parts that Chris Colfer (Kurt) sang in the Glee Christmas Album/Studio Version. This song appears in Season 2, Episode 10 of Glee titled 'A Very Glee Christmas'.

Here's to a 'Glee'-ful holiday season

Yes Brittany, there is a Santa Claus.

How incredibly sweet was Tuesday night’s episode of “Glee”? The holidays are all about believing in magic, and that’s just what the show was this time around. From Sue’s Grinch right on through to Beiste’s Santa, it was all types of adorable.

Will was still sad that Emma's married and declined her offer to come to her and the hubby’s Christmas Eve party. Good for you Mr. Schue, because spending that day with the woman you love and her new dude would be AWKWARD.

It was interesting to watch Kurt and Blaine tackle the traditional male/female holiday duet, "Baby, It's Cold Outside," and I found there performance utterly charming. I know everyone really wants them to end up together as a couple, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Kurt’s love interest is going to be someone most people would least expect (like his bully, maybe?).

The whole show could have been viewed as one giant commercial for the new “Glee” Christmas album, but it was so well done that I felt myself welling up with tears a few times. I even found myself feeling sympathy for Rachel’s attempts to get back into Finn’s good graces, and my heart broke just a little for her when he stormed out before her serenade of “Merry Christmas Darling.” And “Last Christmas” is one of my favorite songs, so I loved the Rachel-Finn duet at the Christmas tree lot.

Brittany’s belief in Santa Claus was absolutely perfect, because of course she would. I heart Artie for his determination to not ruin Christmas for her by enlisting everyone to play along. Beiste’s speech to her about why Santa wouldn’t be able to help Artie was just as sweet as Brittany’s desire to gift her boyfriend with the ability to walk. There's so much more to Britt than just hilarious one-liners, and the show has been smartly paced to reveal that fact.

I knew I wouldn’t be able to make it through the show without shedding at least a few tears. Sue’s redemption from being the type who would load the Secret Santa with her name and then steal gifts from orphans to being the person who made the holiday bright for Will did me in.

Here’s wishing you all a “Glee”-ful holiday season!

'Glee' Gets Wistful With Wham!'s 'Last Christmas'

Rachel and Finn turn to the 1984 classic for a melancholy moment.

For all the Christmas songs out about mistletoe and merriment, there seems to be just as many, if not more, about loneliness and loss ('tis the season!). While this week's Christmas-themed episode of "Glee" was heavy on the warm, fuzzy aspects of the holiday, things were anything but for newly split couple Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith). And in the midst of a tree-shopping excursion, the crestfallen duo (with some backup help from their fellow "Glee"-mates) sang Wham!'s 1984 classic "Last Christmas."

Michele and Monteith are hardly the first to cover the wistful pop song, but no artists could have ever put their own touch on it without its originators, George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. The English duo released "Last Christmas" as an A-side with "Everything She Wants" on Epic Records in December 1984. It would eventually appear on the pair's third and final album, Music From the Edge of Heaven.

George Michael may have been mending a broken heart with this song, but the release of "Last Christmas" (which he wrote) marked a banner year for the musician. Earlier in the year, Wham! released two other Billboard chart-toppers, "Careless Whisper" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go."

The song, which was released not soon after the Band Aid fundraiser smash "Do They Know It's Christmas?" (which also features Michael), has the dubious distinction of being one of the biggest songs in U.K. chart history that never actually reached #1. But it has proved to have staying power and currently ranks at #14 on the Billboard Holiday Songs list.

"Last Christmas" has since shown up on several Christmas compilations (including All Time Greatest Christmas Songs and Now That's What I Call Christmas!: The Signature Collection) and is a radio go-to throughout the holiday season.

So, it's no surprise that other artists have jumped on the opportunity to cry, "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart/ But the very next day, you gave it away/ This year, to save me from tears/ I'll give it to someone special." Taylor Swift, Jimmy Eat World, Ashley Tisdale, Carrie Underwood, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Hilary Duff, Manic Street Preachers, Cascada, Whigfield, Billie Piper, Travis and Crazy Frog are just a select few of the notable names of those who left a note saying "I love you" and meant it.

Now, the "Glee" cast is part of the ever-growing list, and as expected, it's already spun some gold. The show's Christmas album, which also features covers of other classics such as "Baby, It's Cold Outside," "Jingle Bells" and "O Holy Night," is #10 on this week's Billboard 200 and climbing to #4 on next week's.

Which was your favorite holiday song on this week's "Glee"? Talk about it in the comments.

"A Very Glee Christmas" Miracle: Artie Gets a Beistely Gift

Artie can walk again! Well... sort of. With his robotic legs, he could now pass for a character from any number of cheesy '80s action movies. (Anyone else see the 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme film Cyborg? Or was that just us?) But maybe he should think twice before walking again. We wish we had an excuse to avoid having to take out the trash.

First, it’s Christmastime at McKinley. Schue wants to get the kids in the holiday spirit by caroling in classrooms for charity. Meanwhile, Emma invites him to spend Christmas Eve with herself and Carl, but he declines. Poor Schue is starting to make J.D. Salinger himself seem like a social butterfly.

Unfortunately, when glee starts to go caroling around school, the other students heckle them, and one teacher even throws her shoe! (No, it wasn’t a Louboutin, but still.) Then again, Schue should have known better than to have glee sing in classrooms. We have about as much sympathy for them as we would for someone who asked for their money back after a David Spade movie. It’s like, “What did you expect?”

Glee-Dux: New Directions Saves Christmas! Plus, What's Coming After the Hiatus?

Merry Christmas, Gleeks! Are your chestnuts roasting? Stockings stuffed? Tree trimmed? If you've fallen behind on your holiday cheer, tonight's episode of Glee had more than enough festive fun to catch you up.

And speaking of catching up, here's what went down on "A Very Glee Christmas"…

WHAT WE LEARNED

Got a Grinch? Send 'Em Some Glee: The opening number while New Directions decorated the tree was like a shot of glittered holiday cheer directly into our brain. And what an appropriate song: "The Island of Misfit Toys." Who do you think is the squirt gun that squirts jelly?

Rachel Needs to Dig Deep: As beautiful as her voice is, Rachel is going to have to do a little better than giving Finn "a song sung out of love" in order to win him back. In fact, don't you all think she needs to put the drama and her ego aside, and just tell Finn straight up she screwed up royally? Like Finn said, Rachel messed him up bad. He needs time, and she needs to do some soul searching if she ever wants to become Finchel again. But was that little smile Finn gave her at the end enough to give you hope?

Sigh... Oh, we're sorry. We were too busy pressing our noses up against the TV and completely bursting with love for Chris and Blaine during "Baby, It's Cold Outside" to come up with a clever lead-in. If you didn't break into at least a smirk at the sight of those two, have your heart checked. Just kiss already! You might have seen some of us on Twitter starting the campaign (##kurtblaineKISSalready), but we need more strength in numbers. Join in the fun!

All We Want For Christmas Is: Channing Tatum to stop being in stuff? Chapstick? Nah, all we want is more bad blood between Will and Sue. It's the oldest Glee plot point, but we love it oh so much. It always makes for great scenes. Side note, how lovely did Sue look in that pink track suit? It really brought out the flush in her scowling face muscles.

OK, Now We're Totally on Board With Artie and Brittany: The lengths good ole Artie went to in order to keep Brittany's belief in Santa intact was one of the sweetest couple moments of the season. Even walking in on Sue the Grinch wasn't enough to shatter her faith in the big guy, and wouldn't you know it...Santa (Beiste) came through in the end. What did you guys think of Artie's Christmas miracle?

WHAT LIES AHEAD

Katie Couric: She's coming, and she may or may not be wearing a top hat and carrying a cane. We have to wait until the Super Bowl episode to find out if she was kidding or not.

A Long Empty Road: And here comes the dreaded winter hiatus. We won't be getting a new Glee episode until February! We can hear you weeping from here. But on the plus side, the Super Bowl episode is going to be so epic, we might forgive the cast and crew for taking a holiday. Emphasis on might.

The Emergence of a New Power Couple: Ready for Mrittany? No? Neither is Harry Shum Jr. "Everyone's rooting for Brittany. Mike and Brittany," he says. "I think with the dancing thing which is, I think, a little too typical. I think it's great they make great dance partners and you haven't really seen their relationship outside of that before, but I don't know, I think we can mix it up a bit. Whether it be a new character coming in, hot supermodel or something." Harry wants to put Mike with a supermodel? We're telling Tina. See what else Harry had to say about Artie, Finchel and the Super Bowl episode when he talked to Kristin Dos Santos.

Graduation…or Not: We know the core cast of Glee can't stick around forever, (although we keep sending Ryan Murphy shackles. Use ‘em Ryan!) but at least one New Direction member has a plan to stay in high school. "I'm trying to make sure that I don't pass my classes and I do really bad and stay as long as I can," Harry admits. "I know Brittany might be held back a good amount because she's not all there. I don't know, possible spinoffs or something." A spinoff starring Mike and Brittany? Consider us intrigued.

Well, that was the first half of season two, Gleeks! All wrapped up in a pretty bow for you to obsess over until we get new episodes in 2011. What did you think of all the Christmas magic? Are you still holding out hope for our favorite couples? Head down to the comments, and we'll see you next year!

2x10 "A Very Glee Christmas" Songs!

IT CONTAINS SPOILERS!
The holidays have arrived on 'Glee' and it looks like the Grinch has been reincarnated in form of Sue Sylvester on Season 2, episode 10 'A Very Glee Christmas.'

The special show has been highly anticipated, even before the second season began, but Gleeks everywhere have been able to enjoy the New Directions' carols on 'Glee: The Music - The Christmas Album' since its Nov. 16 release.

But, while the holiday album boasts 12 Glee-riffic songs, only a few will make it to the show. Tina, Mercedes and Kurt will sing 'We Need a Little Christmas,' and Kurt's feelings for Blaine start to heat up, the two will perform the classic 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' together.

'Welcome Christmas,' the song sung by the Who Village Choir in 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas,' will also make its way into the Seuss-inspired episode when it's performed by New Directions and its latest addition, Lauren.

Of course, the holidays wouldn't be complete without a solo by Rachel, who was sidelined at Sectionals last week. As she works to repair her relationship with Finn and improve her attitude, she'll sing the Carpenters' 'Merry Christmas Darling.'

Check out the Season 2, Episode 10 'A Very Glee Christmas' song list below, and head over to AOL Radio's 'Glee' Radio to hear songs from past episodes.

1. Tina, Mercedes and Kurt, 'We Need a Little Christmas' (from 'Mame')
2. Kurt and Blaine 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' (Frank Loesser)
3. Lauren and New Directions, 'Welcome Christmas' (from 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas')
4. Rachel, 'Merry Christmas Darling' (Carpenters)

New Song from the Episode

First look: A New Direction on 'A Very Glee Christmas'

It's a Glee-ful Christmas for Fox's hit musical-comedy series, but not for the school staff whose Secret Santa is soured by Jane Lynch's Grinchy Sue Sylvester.

In the holiday episode airing Dec. 7 (8 ET/PT), the cheerleading coach manages to replace all of their names with hers. "I was everybody's Secret Santa, and I got all the presents," Lynch teases. But when the students give them away to poor children, Sue dons "green camo makeup" in a nod to Dr. Seuss' classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas, only to "steal it back and revel in my treasures," she says.

Cheerio Becky (Lauren Potter) is dressed up like the Grinch's reindeer/dog Max, and Brittany (Heather Morris) "looks an awful lot like Cindy Lou Who," the child who still believes in Santa, Lynch says. (The Seuss estate licensed rights to the characters but didn't allow their use in publicity photos.)

Finn (Cory Monteith) brings some Christmas cheer (a tree) to McKinley High, while the soundtrack features a duet with k.d. lang and Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) for the classic song You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. It's part of a 12-song Glee Christmas album, released Nov. 16, that's No. 8 on Billboard's top album chart.

The episode marks Glee's last original until a post-Super Bowl outing on Feb. 6, in which Emmy-winning Lynch promises a Sue "temper tantrum the likes of which you've never seen on Glee."

Keck's Exclusives: Glee Does Christmas!

There's fake snow on the Glee set as the cast shoots its December 7 Christmas episode. At TV Guide Magazine's Hot List party, Lea Michele (Rachel) told me the cheery holiday hour centers on Brittany (Heather Morris) — who still believes in Santy Claus. Aww, how totally Brittany. When the glee club finds out, they take elaborate steps to ensure that she (everybody join in...) "Won't Stop Believin'." Sources tell me one friend will even dress up as Old Saint Nick to keep the dream alive (Coach Beiste, perhaps?). But lurking behind the chimney to destroy Brittany's childlike wonderment is that Grinch Sue Sylvester. The Christmas carol-filled hour will also feature Mercedes getting a green slushie thrown in her face and the blossoming of Brit's romance with Artie. The cast tells me this episode is sure to bring a tear to even the Scroogiest of viewers.
